FAQ

The Alpenzoo is open daily all year round!

9:00 am - 6:00 pm (April - October)
9:00 am - 5:00 pm (November - March)

A visit to the ALPENZOO is a special experience at any time of year! Almost all animal species can also be seen in winter, as only the marmots, reptiles and amphibians sleep through the cold season. Most young animals are born in the ALPENZOO from April to June, with ibex, chamois and roe deer born in May to June. From the beginning of March, on the other hand, many bird species are mating or busy building their nests, which is always exciting to watch.

The Alpenzoo is open all year round. In summer from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and in winter from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
The “Hungerburgbahn” runs every 15 minutes.
The Alpenzoo specialises in those animals of the Alpine region. This means that the most popular animals include the brown bear, lynx, wolf, moose, otter, vulture, etc.
No, dogs and other pets are not allowed in the Alpenzoo.
The farm animals can be petted and fed at the farm.
Yes, there are paid parking spaces available at the Alpenzoo. The parking fee is EUR 50 cents per half hour for the first 3 hours daily (Monday - Sunday, public holidays) from 9.00 am - 7.00 pm, each additional half hour costs EUR 1. A disabled car park is available. The coach park at the Hofgarten is available for coaches longer than 8.5 metres. Please note that the car parks may be very busy at some weekends and on public holidays. In such cases, we recommend taking the “Hungerburgbahn” and the “W” bus line. These alternatives are particularly suitable for coach groups.
Pre-booking is not necessary.

The Alpenzoo also offers the option of buying tickets online. The tickets can then be redeemed within a period of two weeks.
