Alpenzoo Innsbruck is setting another example for sustainability and species conservation: from now on, visitors can return their deposit bottles in specially designed deposit return boxes - and actively support species conservation projects in the process.
Each of the new deposit boxes is dedicated to a specific species conservation project and is individually designed. The principle is simple: every bottle returned benefits a species conservation project. In this way, returning a deposit becomes an active contribution to the protection of endangered animal species.
„Our aim is to increase the separation rate at the zoo and at the same time raise awareness of species conservation,“ explains Magnus Klammer, Sustainability Officer. „Every bottle counts - and every decision at the deposit box supports species that urgently need our help.“
The stylish and informative deposit return boxes were thankfully financed by the Friends of the Alpine Zoo. With their commitment, they are once again making a valuable contribution to the sustainable development of the zoo and the protection of Alpine wildlife.
With this new system, Alpenzoo Innsbruck is focussing on an innovative combination of environmental awareness, visitor participation and active species protection.
